Job summary

Calfus is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to drive delivery for client engagements in the US market while guiding the growth of our Data & Analytics practice. The role blends hands-on coding with leadership, as you work with Snowflake, Databricks, and cloud data stacks to deliver end-to-end data solutions.

You will write SQL and Python, build data models, dashboards, and pipelines, and mentor team members. A track record in consulting and data warehousing, plus BI experience, is essential.

Qualifications

• Approximately 10 years in a consulting or data-focused role.
• Hands-on expertise across the data engineering lifecycle with multiple platforms and BI tools.
• Strong knowledge of analytics tooling for cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and data quality/governance concepts.
• Extensive experience with business-driven BI using Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar.
• Experience designing relational databases and data warehouses; troubleshooting complex analytics solutions.
• Proficient coding in SQL and PySpark; Python proficiency; hands-on weekly coding.
• Experience with Git-based version control, code reviews, CI/CD, dbt, Airflow.
• Experience with consulting business development and leading a data analytics practice.
• 10+ years in project management and SDLC in Agile environments.
• Experience in project planning, budgeting, resource allocation, balancing.
• Track record of impactful work and leadership in prior roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in related analytical field.

Responsibilities

• Be the face of the practice, develop internal/external presence and evangelize services.
• Participate in business development and presales activities for the practice.
• Articulate ROI of services and proposed solutions to customers.
• Stay updated on data analytics trends, AI-focused developments.
• Architect, design and build solutions with documentation and delivery estimations.
• Translate client business needs into written requirements for technical teams.
• Lead projects through setup, requirements, design, development, testing and deployment.
• Maintain executive relationships and ensure client satisfaction.
• Translate complex business challenges into actionable plans.
• Facilitate workshops and lead executive-level meetings.
