Job summary

CALSTART is seeking a motivated intern to assist in building a knowledge and tools repository for freight corridor electrification and to develop a TCO model evaluating policy measures on vehicle economics. You will translate results into clear visuals and outputs for policymakers, collaborating with the Drive to Zero team and other CALSTART groups to prepare tools for global adaptation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed a Master’s degree in a related field (engineering, energy, policy).
• Experience building quantitative models (e.g., TCO, techno-economic, or policy impact).
• Familiarity with web-based tools, dashboards, or digital knowledge platforms.
• Knowledge of zero-emission vehicles, transport electrification, or energy systems.
• Understanding of clean transportation policies and incentives.
• Ability to translate analytic work into intuitive tools or visualizations.
• Interest in working in an international environment.

Responsibilities

• Support development of a knowledge and tools repository for freight corridor electrification.
• Develop a Total Cost of Ownership model assessing policy measures on vehicle economics.
• Translate analytical results into visualizations and outputs for policymakers.
• Collaborate with the Drive to Zero team and CALSTART teams to adapt tools globally.
• Support other research related to zero-emission vehicles, infrastructure and policy.
