Job summary

The Wilderness Society is seeking a Full-Time Data and Analytics Director (1-year term) to set strategy for the CRM ecosystem and data infrastructure, lead analytics for fundraising and advocacy, and drive a centralized data warehouse. You will oversee data governance, AI-enabled tooling, and cross-team collaboration to turn data into actionable insights.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data management, analytics or CRM leadership with a strong strategy background.
• Experience guiding data governance, privacy, and security across an organization.
• Proven ability to design and optimize a CRM/data warehouse platform.

Responsibilities

• Set long-term CRM strategy and roadmap, including data infrastructure and migrations.
• Lead a centralized data warehouse unifying CRM, email, SMS, ads, web, and offline data.
• Identify and deploy AI agents and automation within the data/CRM platform.
• Establish a framework for responsible AI use with privacy and governance.
• Develop data governance across all entities, ensuring data quality and compliance.
• Lead analytics for fundraising and advocacy with testing metrics.
• Build cross-channel measurement and multi-touch attribution.
• Create advocacy analytics linking action-taking to giving, with geographic reporting.
• Design audience segmentation using behavioral and engagement data.
• Develop predictive donor lifecycle models (retention, reactivation, LTV).
• Maintain file health, forecasts, and early-warning revenue indicators.
• Create compelling data visuals for leadership, board, and donors.
• Guide vendor selection and onboarding for data-related services.
• Support budgeting and investment decisions with data insights.
• Collaborate with IT on cybersecurity alignment and compliance.
• Ensure adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
