Job summary

Siemens is offering a Summer 2027 Data Analytics and BI Internship in Alpharetta, GA. You will gain hands-on experience turning raw data into executive reports, supporting dashboards, and learning how analytics informs business decisions within a global technology company.

You will work with enterprise data platforms like Snowflake, and tools such as Power BI, DAX, and Power Query to deliver actionable insights, while collaborating with data professionals on real-world projects.

Qualifications

• Current undergraduate pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, MIS, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Experience with data analysis and a strong interest in Business Intelligence.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret data and communicate meaningful insights.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team.
• Eligible candidates must be located within 50 miles of Alpharetta, GA and able to work 40 hours per week from May through August.
• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Advanced Data Visualization: Using Power BI to create interactive dashboards, utilizing DAX and Power Query for sophisticated data modeling.
• IT Insights Reporting: Transition manual reporting processes into fully automated Power BI reports, delivering live, interactive dashboards used by leadership to track KPIs.
• Report Optimization & UX Audit: Conduct UX audits of existing report suites to improve performance and usability, optimizing DAX queries for faster loading.
• Documentation & Enablement: Maintain technical and end-user documentation, including a Data Dictionary and User Enablement Guides.
• Data Engineering Basics: Query large datasets and support ETL processes to prepare data for reporting.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Translate complex requirements into actionable insights with data architects and business experts.
• Data Storytelling: Communicate analytical findings to non-technical audiences to support data-driven decisions.
• Agile Participation: Participate in Agile practices such as sprint planning and stand-ups.
• Work with Snowflake to access, analyze, and prepare data for use cases.
• Collaborate with data architects and developers to review solutions and improve deliverables.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
