Novacore in Conshohocken, PA, is seeking a Data Analyst - Underwriting Analytics to support reporting and analytics for assigned programs. This role combines reporting duties with data science support, helping the team optimize underwriting operations.

You’ll build dashboards in Power BI, automate reports, and structure claims, exposure, and policy data for model-ready analysis. A Bachelor’s degree and 1–2 years’ P&C experience, strong Excel, SQL, and Python basics are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 1–2 years’ experience in a similar role; P&C insurance preferred.
• Strong Excel skills.
• SQL experience; comfortable writing and maintaining queries.
• Power BI experience building and maintaining reports and dashboards.
• Familiarity with Python for data prep and automation.

Responsibilities

• Build, automate, and maintain internal and external reporting for assigned programs.
• Convert reporting backlog into production dashboards in Power BI or Excel, prioritizing NovaLytics.
• Pull and structure claims, exposure, and policy data into model-ready form for the team’s Data Scientist.

Data Analyst - Underwriting Analytics

This is not a generic BI seat. It’s two jobs in one person: keep reporting and carrier deliverables running for your assigned program(s), and be your team's Data Scientist’s hands for data, pulling and structuring it. This role is essential for optimizing business operations and achieving company and segment objectives.

This is a hybrid opportunity from the Conshohocken, PA Home Office**

Responsibilities

Segment Reporting

• Build, automate, and maintain internal and external reporting for your assigned programs.
• Resolve manual steps and formalize reporting into full recurring deliverables
• Stand up reporting from scratch for new or transferring programs.

Ad Hoc + Power BI Builds

• Convert reporting backlog requests into production dashboards, ranging from straightforward pulls to net‑new builds requiring disaggregation work.
• Know when a request should stay a one‑off Excel pull and when it belongs as a page in NovaLytics, our consolidated Power BI reporting environment. NovaLytics is the default; one‑off Excel is the exception — the judgment call that keeps reporting from sprawling into duplicate, hard‑to‑maintain files.

Data Science Support

• Pull and structure claims, exposure, and policy data into model‑ready shape for your team's Data Scientist.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role, prior P&C insurance experience preferred
• Strong Excel skills
• SQL experience, comfortable writing and maintaining queries, not just running them
• Power BI experience building and maintaining reports and dashboards
• Comfortable with Python to a degree, for data prep and automation. Not expected to be a software engineer.
