Job summary

Novacore Insurance Services, LLC seeks a Data Analyst - Underwriting Analytics to support reporting and analytics for assigned programs. The role combines traditional BI reporting with data science support to optimize underwriting operations.

Hybrid work from the Conshohocken, PA home office is provided, with opportunities to build dashboards and scalable reporting in NovaLytics and Excel-based workflows. Strong Excel, SQL, and Power BI skills are essential, with Python for data prep a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role, prior P&C insurance experience preferred.
• Strong Excel skills.
• SQL experience, comfortable writing and maintaining queries, not just running them.
• Power BI experience building and maintaining reports and dashboards.
• Comfortable with Python to a degree, for data prep and automation. Not expected to be a software engineer.

Responsibilities

• Segment Reporting Build, automate, and maintain internal and external reporting for your assigned programs.
• Resolve manual steps and formalize reporting into full recurring deliverables.
• Stand up reporting from scratch for new or transferring programs.
• Ad Hoc + Power BI Builds Convert reporting backlog requests into production dashboards, ranging from straightforward pulls to net‑new builds requiring disaggregation work.
• Know when a request should stay a one‑off Excel pull and when it belongs as a page in NovaLytics, our consolidated Power BI reporting environment. NovaLytics is the default; one‑off Excel is the exception — the judgment call that keeps reporting from sprawling into duplicate, hard‑to‑maintain files.
• Data Science Support Pull and structure claims, exposure, and policy data into model‑ready shape for your team's Data Scientist.

Data Analyst - Underwriting Analytics

This is not a generic BI seat. It's two jobs in one person: keep reporting and carrier deliverables running for your assigned program(s), and be your team's Data Scientist's hands for data, pulling and structuring it. This role is essential for optimizing business operations and achieving company and segment objectives.
