Data Analyst II

(California, Full-time, Remote)

Fisher Phillips, a premier international labor and employment law firm, is seeking an experienced Data Analyst II to join our team. In this role, the Data Analyst II works under the supervision of an attorney to deliver high-quality billable work that benefits our clients and supports our attorneys. The role requires managing a busy case load with a target of recording 1500 or more billable hours annually, from October 1 to September 30. The Data Analyst does not provide legal advice.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Draft Damage Models to assess gross damage exposure, designing Excel reports and formulas to analyze scenarios and collaborate with attorneys on data manipulation.
  2. Perform Time Card Analysis to identify violations and provide 'what-if' analyses based on varying parameters.
  3. Handle confidential client data, performing quality control, cleaning, aggregating, and transforming data into Excel for analysis.
  4. Check modeling results for accuracy and generate data reports as needed.
  5. Analyze payroll and time data to verify proper wage disbursement.
  6. Design pay plan calculators by interpreting contractual criteria and creating Excel tools for wage determination, requiring no legal training but strong business acumen.
  7. Create and manipulate spreadsheets for business data analysis, such as profit and loss assessments.
  8. Manage deadlines and ensure timely project progression.
  9. Interpret client data to identify trends through aggregation, sorting, and statistical analysis.
  10. Collaborate with team members, attorneys, paralegals, and class action attorneys.
  11. Conduct statistical estimation and testing for adverse impact in employment processes.
  12. Apply linear and logistic regression modeling and hypothesis testing for pay equity reviews.
  13. Use Excel to analyze HR data and identify employment trends.
  14. Engage in written and verbal communication with HR and legal professionals at Fortune 500 companies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 2-4 years of data analysis experience; legal experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Python and Tableau is preferred.
  • Highly organized, resourceful, and efficient.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with shifting priorities.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience with billable time and cost analysis.
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Prompt responsiveness to requests and commitments.
  • Ability to work independently following instructions.
  • Tactful communication and professionalism under pressure.
  • Team-oriented attitude and ownership of tasks.

The hourly rate range for this position is $33.65 - $45.65. Actual pay will depend on location, experience, skills, and other factors.
