Summary

The Data Analyst II (Energy Analyst II) is responsible for validation, editing, and estimation (VEE) of generation meter data prior to its use for billing and load calculations. The role involves investigating and reconciling meter data gaps, ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and timeliness for reporting purposes used in various filings and reports, including support for California ISO Energy Imbalance Market.

Minimum Requirements

• BS degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance
• 2 years' related experience in financial analysis, reporting, or data analytics
• OR an advanced degree in applied data analytics, data science, or statistics with relevant work experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word

Preferred Skills, Knowledge, or Qualifications

• Knowledge of energy accounting processes and auditing techniques
• Experience in account reconciliation, energy billing, or financial reporting
• Knowledge of risk management procedures
• Understanding of trading activities and energy products

Major Accountabilities

• Reconcile futures transactions, calculate mark-to-market, and process related reports and invoices
• Maintain gas flow and price data, reconcile transactions, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations
• Review coal contracts, reconcile transactions, and prepare profit and loss statements
• Ensure accurate settlement of energy and transmission transactions, analyze usage data, and handle billing disputes
