Main Purpose of Job
This position is an essential component of the FIA Data Analytics and Performance team.�The Data Analyst works under the leadership of the Data Analytics and Performance Officer, performing actions as well as data and programming evaluations to ensure that proper controls are implemented and maintained to measure performance. The Data Analyst completes data collecting, data administration, and advanced data analysis for�Family Investment Administration (FIA) projects while also contributing to ongoing quality improvement by building, developing, or recommending data management platforms.�The Data Analyst demonstrates understanding of data sources, availability, meaning, and analytics, as well as data context for new, innovative initiatives and the automation of existing data collection and analysis operations. The Data Analyst creates and implements projections, presents key performance indicators to senior leadership, and works with colleagues to give relevant analysis and insights. The Data Analyst cleans, analyzes, and visualizes data using R, Excel, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, Qlik, Alteryx, or other business intelligence/statistical software as needed.
POSITION DUTIES
Identify trends in customer outcomes, employee productivity, and vendor performance. Identify and present current issues and barriers, as well as give recommendations on current work flows, procedures, and best practices, to help the Family Investment Administration's operational teams enhance their current work strategies and practices. Support the Data Analytics and Performance Officer in serving as the FIA's subject matter expert for data. Clean and organize any datasets, reports, documents, and/or other relevant files utilized to generate and manage data sets acquired from the QLIK and WORKS apps, which are required for FIA Operations' daily task management.� Periodically examine the datasets and reports utilized by the Baltimore Works and Business Partnerships Units to ensure they are up to date.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Please read all requirements before applying.Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. Experience: Six years of administrative staff or professional work. Notes: 1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience. 2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience. 3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience. 4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.One year of experience with business intelligence applications like Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, and Qlik.One year of experience training employees in data gathering and interpretation.One year of experience working with internal and external partners to implement solutions for human service programs.

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
