Job summary

GCS Recruitment Specialists is seeking a Fiber Network Data Analyst to document a large-scale fiber network deployment. This remote, customer-facing role focuses on ensuring accurate records from fiber to racks, rooms and cabinets through meticulous data entry and GIS tools.

You will validate addresses, track assets, and coordinate with providers, while keeping milestones up-to-date to support downstream teams and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 3–5 years telecom experience.
• Hands-on GIS experience, MapInfo and AutoCAD strongly preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
• Working knowledge of fiber, duct, cabinets, rooms and racks.
• Comfortable reading dark fiber contracts: orders, due quantities.
• Understanding of milestones, timelines and task dependencies.
• Strong computer skills and ability to pick up new software quickly.
• Clear, professional communication.

Responsibilities

• Review network orders, as built diagrams and dark fiber contracts, and document each asset in the network database.
• Record fiber details (type, length, attenuation, manufacturer) and rack details (manufacturer, size, location, rack number), plus rooms, cabinets and duct.
• Track the fiber, space and power providers for each site.
• Validate building addresses and coordinates in Google Earth and build site footprints.
• Confirm delivered quantities match what was ordered in the contract.
• Keep project dates and milestones current so downstream teams can move forward.
• Work directly with the customer to communicate status and resolve discrepancies.

About the Role

We're partnering with a global leader in fiber and network infrastructure to hire a Fiber Network Data Analyst for a large scale fiber network deployment program. You'll make sure every part of the customer's fiber network is documented accurately, from the fiber itself to the racks, rooms and cabinets it runs through. This is 100% remote, computer based work in a customer facing role, and it's a great fit for someone who knows fiber infrastructure and takes pride in getting the details right.

What You'll Do

• Review network orders, as built diagrams and dark fiber contracts, then document each asset in the customer's network database
• Record fiber details (type, length, attenuation, manufacturer) and rack details (manufacturer, size, width, location, rack number), along with rooms, cabinets and duct
• Track the fiber, space and power providers for each site
• Validate building addresses and coordinates in Google Earth and build site footprints
• Confirm delivered quantities match what was ordered in the contract
• Keep project dates and milestones current so downstream teams can keep moving
• Work directly with the customer to communicate status and resolve discrepancies

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or engineering, OR 3 to 5 years of telecom experience in inside or outside plant operations
• Hands on GIS experience, with MapInfo and AutoCAD strongly preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
• Working knowledge of fiber, duct, cabinets, rooms and racks
• Comfortable reading dark fiber contracts: what was ordered, what's due, who's responsible and the quantities
• Understanding of project milestones, timelines and task dependencies
• Very strong computer skills and the ability to pick up new, custom built software quickly
• Clear, professional communication

Nice to Have

• Background in network deployment or field operations, especially if you kept GIS records updated
• OTDR trace interpretation or EXFO FastReporter
• Visio
• Carrier hotel interconnect knowledge (cable, fiber and connector types, riser details)
