Job Title: Data Analyst – Remediation Analytics Team

Client: A leading Swoon partner in the financial services industry

Location: 100% Remote (U.S. based)

Contract Type: W2

Pay Rate: $74/hour

Duration: 6-month contract (potential for extension based on business needs)

Job Description:

We’re partnering with a top-tier client in the financial services industry to hire a Data Analyst for a critical role on their Remediation Analytics Team. This team is responsible for identifying and correcting customer-impacting errors related to credit card products — such as issuing refunds, adjusting interest rates, and correcting credit report inaccuracies with bureaus like Equifax and TransUnion.

As a Data Analyst in this group, you’ll play a key role in calculating accurate refund amounts and supporting the development of remediation strategies. This role is highly collaborative and compliance-driven, requiring interaction with Business Risk, Compliance, and Business Analyst teams. You’ll be expected to handle large data sets, extract insights, automate reporting, and communicate your findings clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze large datasets to identify discrepancies and calculate customer refunds
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Compliance, Business Risk, Analysts) to understand root causes and determine remediation actions
  • Support migration efforts from SAS to Python-based solutions
  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction and validation
  • Automate recurring reporting processes and build dashboards for key performance metrics
  • Present analytical findings and recommendations to leadership
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness in all remediation outputs and documentation
  • Support A/B testing, segmentation analysis, and statistical modeling to refine remediation strategies

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or similar role (Data Engineers with strong analytical background also welcome)
  • Strong command of SQL, Python, and SAS
  • Experience in data validation, cleansing, and remediation logic
  • Experience working in compliance-heavy environments
  • Strong communication skills — must be able to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders
  • Highly detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities
  • Prior experience in financial services is strongly preferred; healthcare or insurance also a plus
  • Experience with tools such as Tableau, Snowflake, Redshift, or other cloud-based data warehouses is a plus
