Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Data Visualization Engineer to design and deliver insightful dashboards for customers and internal teams. You will work with data, IT, sales, and clients to tell compelling data stories using Tableau and open-source visualization tools.

The role requires strong SQL, Python, and JavaScript experience, 2+ years in a related role, and a STEM background; a Master’s degree is valued. This is a full-time position in the United States with a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, document, test, and support data visualizations for internal and customer-facing insights.
• Follow standards in data visualization, access, and integration on new big data platforms.
• Create presentation-ready visualizations using Spotfire or other open source tools.
• Build wireframes and mockups of dashboards and reports for internal and client use.
• Use SQL, R, Hive, Impala, and Python to extract data and build data marts for dashboards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with Data and Analytics professionals, IT, Sales, and customers to design, document, test, and support the construction of internal and customer facing Data Visual solutions that tell the desired insights story.
• Follow existing strategies, standards and best practices in the areas of data visualization, data access and data integration within Equifax’s new big data analytical platforms.
• Create eye catching and informative presentation-ready visualizations and analyses for internal or external clients using Spotfire and/or other open source visualization technologies.
• Build wireframes and mockups of dashboards and reports as needed to communicate visualization/functionality internally and to clients.
• Use agile data methodologies for extraction and transformation of data using platforms like SQL, R, Hive, Impala, and/or Python to derive data marts to drive dashboards and visualizations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

• BS degree in a STEM major or equivalent discipline; Master’s Degree strongly preferred
• 2+ years of experience in a related role
• Experience working in multiple languages including, JavaScript, Python, and SQL
• Experience using Tableau & BI tools is a plus
