Job summary

Gerdau Ameristeel Corp. is seeking a Data Scientist/Analyst to join the Supply Chain unit in Tampa, FL. The role focuses on leveraging data to drive timely decisions and implementing AI across Sales & Operations Planning, Fulfillment, and Logistics.

The candidate will collect and analyze large datasets, develop AI models, and collaborate with marketing, IT, and customer service to align data insights with business goals. Strong analytics and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in data science, CS, statistics, SCM, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst in supply chain/logistics.
• Strong proficiency in Python, R, SQL and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
• Experience with ML algorithms, AI frameworks, and statistical modeling.
• Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Job Summary:

We seek a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist / Analyst to join our Supply Chain business unit. The successful candidate will be crucial in leveraging data to improve timely business decisions and implement AI solutions across Sales and Operations Planning, Fulfillment, and Logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive business decisions.
• Develop and implement data models, algorithms, and AI solutions to optimize supply chain processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, IT, and customer service, to ensure seamless data integration and alignment with business goals.
• Create and maintain dashboards and reports for real-time visibility into key performance metrics and operational insights.
• Conduct data-driven analysis to support strategic initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable data insights and AI solutions.
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in data science, AI, and supply chain management to continuously enhance our capabilities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or master’s degree in data science, Computer Science, Statistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst, preferably in a supply chain or logistics environment.
• Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages like Python, R, SQL, and data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
• Experience with machine learning algorithms, AI frameworks, and statistical modeling techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work with complex datasets to derive meaningful insights.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with supply chain management systems and ERP software.
• Knowledge of advanced analytics techniques and predictive modeling.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and big data technologies.
