Job summary

The IAPP is seeking a data operations professional to manage day-to-day data flows and quality, building and documenting data processes while contributing to the organization's broader data strategy. You will create reports and dashboards with Power BI, support data integrity, and leverage AI tools to automate tasks across multiple sources.

Working in a hybrid environment with two remote days and three days in our Portsmouth, NH office, you’ll collaborate with staff to deliver actionable

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
• 1+ year of experience using SQL with ability to read, write, and modify complex queries.
• Experience with Power BI to build reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud data platforms is a plus.
• Experience utilizing AI tools to support data analysis, automation, or reporting workflows.
• Intermediate Excel skills including VLOOKUP, cross-cell references, and formulas.
• Experience analyzing data, identifying inaccuracies, and solving multi-source data problems.
• Ability to present data visually and translate internal needs into analytics.
• Experience with modern data tools to inspect and transform data at scale.
• Familiarity with Salesforce, Marketo, and NetSuite is a plus.

Job description

This role is responsible for day-to-day operations including maintaining and building data flows, updating and creating documentation for existing and new business solutions, and assuring data quality, while contributing to IAPP's broader data strategy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team to understand and support critical metrics that support ongoing operational management needs.
• Create reports, visualizations, and dashboards using tools such as Power BI, and provide other functionality to ensure that all departments have the day-to-day metrics that matter to their operations.
• Provide ongoing support and improvements to maintain departmental reporting capabilities.
• Understand IAPP's reporting environment and leverage knowledge of the business and operational processes to inform analysis or create auxiliary data flows to support organizational operations.
• Contribute to the development and execution of IAPP's data strategy, helping define how data is collected, stored, governed, and used to drive business decisions.
• Utilize AI tools and techniques to automate repetitive tasks, accelerate analysis, and surface insights from data more efficiently.
• Solve complex data problems by identifying root causes, evaluating trade-offs, and recommending practical solutions across multiple systems and data sources.
• Support initiatives for data integrity and normalization.
• Load, clean, and manipulate data from multiple sources including internal, external, and 3rd parties, leveraging AWS-based data infrastructure and tools where applicable.
• Document processes of transforming datasets into efficient structures for reporting and ensure that data is up to date in source systems and data stores.
• Support business operations to ensure that data flows correctly through the database, perform key action items to ensure process flow, and assist with database support and troubleshooting issues, primarily using SQL.
• Monitor and identify irregularities in data patterns in production data and opportunities for improved processes and data integrity. Leverage problem-solving skills to investigate data inaccuracies and inconsistencies, triage next steps, and create a game plan for solutions.
• Develop strong relationships with staff throughout the organization. Support self-service capabilities wherever possible and support learning initiatives that reinforce user adoption of data solutions.
• Collaborate closely with the technology and business operations teams to ensure smooth, ongoing operation and adaptation to evolving business needs.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) from a four-year college or university
• 1+ year(s) experience using SQL – must be able to read, write, and modify complex SQL queries with no supervision
• Experience with Power BI (or similar BI tools) to build reports, dashboards, and visualizations
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud data platforms (e.g., data warehousing, storage, or pipeline tools) a plus
• Experience utilizing AI tools (e.g., Copilot) to support data analysis, automation, or reporting workflows
• Intermediate experience with Excel including vlookup, referencing cross cells/sheets, and creating formulas with no supervision
• Experience analyzing and investigating data, data inaccuracies, and/or inconsistencies, and solving complex, multi-source data problems
• Demonstrated curiosity, ability, and passion for listening to internal customer needs and translating them into actionable analytics
• Ability to deliver results through visual presentation of the data
• Experience using modern data tools and techniques to inspect and transform data at scale
• Familiarity with Salesforce, Marketo, and/or NetSuite a plus
• Exposure to data strategy development, including data governance, quality frameworks, or long-term data architecture planning, a plus
