Advocates for Human Potential, Inc. (AHP) is seeking a Director of Data Practice to lead the Data Office and drive day-to-day data strategy from our Sudbury, MA headquarters, reporting to the Chief Data Officer.

The role manages two capability leads, owns intake and prioritization across portfolios, and upholds delivery standards so the CDO can focus on strategy. You will govern data quality, timelines, and collaboration with AI efforts across the organization.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a relevant field or equivalent data/analytics leadership experience.
• Track record delivering complex, multi-workstream data projects to deadlines.
• Depth in data governance: quality, stewardship, and standards across teams.
• Experience coordinating with executives outside reporting lines.
• Hands-on with SQL, data pipelines, cloud warehouses, and at least one statistical environment.
• Redshift, Databricks, and Power BI used in practice.

• Interface between the Data Office and project directors; align delivery with EPMO; coordinate Data Office contributions to AI work led by Digital Solutions.

AHP is building a Data Office and hiring the Director of Data Practice to run it day to day. The Director manages the office's two capability leads, owns intake and prioritization across the portfolio, and holds the delivery standard so the Chief Data Officer can focus on strategy.

The Director of Data Practice will report to the Chief Data Officer and manages both the Methods & Standards Lead and the Analytics & Delivery Lead, both senior practitioners who run their own domains and work directly with the CDO on strategy.

Responsibilities

• Manage how data work gets scoped, staffed, and sequenced across AHP's enterprise and client-facing portfolio.
• Run the Data Office intake system: triage requests, apply the prioritization framework, and publish the data portfolio roadmap. AI-related data requests move through the same pipeline.
• Put the governance framework into daily practice: enterprise reporting and quality standards, definition escalations, and the cadence that keeps Data Council decisions moving.
• Supervise and develop the two capability leads, including technical review of their work, and keep methodology and delivery aligned.
• Serve as the primary interface between the Data Office and project directors; align Data Office delivery with the EPMO; coordinate Data Office contributions to AI work led by Digital Solutions.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience leading data, research, or analytics delivery.
• Track record leading complex, multi-workstream data projects to completion on visible deadlines.
• Depth in data governance: definitions, quality, stewardship, and standards implementation across teams.
• Experience managing senior technical and methodological staff, and coordinating with executives outside your reporting line.
• Hands-on experience across the tools the office runs: SQL, data pipelines and cloud warehouses, and at least one statistical environment (R, Stata, SAS, or Python). Depth on either the engineering or the analytic side, with enough fluency in the other to review work, set standards, and evaluate senior practitioners. AHP runs Redshift, Databricks, and Power BI.
• Client-facing consulting credibility. Behavioral health or federal and state contract experience is a plus.

Salary Range:

$145,000 - $165,000

AHP, in an effort to be transparent with applicants about salary and in compliance with various state pay disclosure requirements, publishes the following information, which is current as of the date of posting. The base salary range above represents the low and high end of the AHP salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be high or low in the range based on various factors, including but not limited to location, experience, and education. The range listed is just one component of AHP’s total compensation package for employees.

Location

All work must be performed within the United States or its territories. Employees are required to reside in, and carry out their job responsibilities from, a location within the U.S. or a U.S. territory for the duration of their employment.
