Job summary

Children’s Aid is seeking a data-driven professional to support the Office of Performance Management by building and analyzing data systems that power operational and performance reporting.

The role focuses on designing data collection, managing dashboards, and enabling staff and leadership to act on insights. You will collaborate across departments, ensure data governance, and contribute to scalable analytics in a hybrid New York work environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor-level degree in data management, analytics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of Excel, SQL, and relational databases.
  • 2+ years building Power BI dashboards.
  • 1+ years integrating data from multiple systems.
  • Experience documenting data processes and reporting methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Create and strengthen data collection, management, reporting, and analysis systems, including documenting procedures.
  • Build databases that aggregate data from multiple sources to track process and outcome measures.
  • Produce recurring and ad hoc operational and performance indicator reports for staff, the Board, and external audiences.
  • Analyze actual performance versus projected performance and review trends within and across programs on a regular basis.
  • Collaborate with Performance Management staff to implement components of a comprehensive performance management system.
  • Help staff access and analyze data to inform strategic and programmatic decisions.
  • Manage data exchange under data-sharing agreements while observing confidentiality and use requirements.
  • Train staff on data collection, entry, management, and analysis.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting tools for KPIs and operational metrics monitoring.
  • Support creation of an agency-wide performance dashboard by standardizing data definitions, reporting logic, and KPI structures across divisions.
  • Work with internal stakeholders and IT teams to connect and organize data from multiple program systems into centralized reporting structures.
  • Document data flows, data definitions, and reporting processes as part of data governance and data strategy initiatives.
  • Contribute to efforts to inventory and map organizational data systems, clarifying how data is collected, stored, and used across the agency.
  • Support scalable data pipelines and centralized analytics reporting processes that integrate data from multiple sources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Arts or Sciences with an emphasis on database design, development, and data management for the social or health sciences; Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrated, high level expertise with Excel, SQL scripting, and relational databases.
  • 2+ years building or supporting dashboards using Power BI.
  • 1+ years working with multiple data systems and integrating data for reporting or analytics.
  • Experience documenting data processes, definitions, or reporting methodologies.

  • Programming language experience for data analysis and automation (preferred: R, Python).
  • Experience with outcomes reporting in a non-profit, education, or healthcare setting.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 applications, including Copilot.

  • Ability to create and maintain strong interdepartmental relationships to advance mission and outcomes.

Compensation
  • Salary: USD 80,000 - 90,000 per yearly.
Minimum Experience & Education
  • Experience: 1 - 2 years integrating multiple data systems for reporting or analytics; 2 years Power BI dashboard experience; 3 years high level expertise with Excel, SQL scripting, and relational databases.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or better.
