SECU is seeking a Data Analyst. This is a remote position for candidates ideally living in the EST time zone. Occasional in-person meetings and commitments throughout the year may be required.

The Data Analyst will primarily support our lending team with additional support to a variety of business partners to conduct exploratory data analysis, statistical analysis, data visualization, predictive modeling and forecasting to produce actionable and automated data-driven insights across the organization. While taking on ad-hoc analytical projects, the Data Analyst will demonstrate innovative ways to use existing and new data sources to produce enhanced metrics which drive strategic business decisions.

A day in your life might include:

• Work in an agile environment to intake requests, projects, and requirements.
• Solve data questions requiring advanced transforms, custom queries, statistical analyses, or other related tasks outside the realm of possibility for a self-service tool.
• Visualize data by creating dashboards and reports to help monitor and drive business decisions. This includes identifying KPIs, building queries, creating visuals, and dashboard maintenance.
• Communicate nuanced and complex analytical topics to a variety of audiences across the organization, including translating meaning to impact on the business.
• Develop and maintain predictive modeling and forecasting to help key stakeholders build a proactive strategy.
• Educate team members on data literacy to promote proper and relevant usage of dashboards and reporting while also maintaining a general understanding of team and project priorities.
• Collaborate with internal partners to identify and understand key data sources for analytics.
• Perform extensive quality control on all queries, dashboards and other work through manual analysis, validation and check-ins with subject matter experts.
• Request and recommend additional data extracts, views, etc. as necessary, and help detail requirements.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in a field related to Statistics, Data Analytics, Programming, Information Systems, Data Science or Computer Science.

Experience Requirements:

• 2-7+ years of relevant experience,
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Microsoft SQL Server
• Experience in building dashboards using Power BI, Tableau or other data visualization tools.
• Experience utilizing databases and data warehouses for analysis.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office programs specifically Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Experience with forecasting, statistical analysis, predictive analytics, clustering, and segmentation.

Nice to Have Experience:

• Financial services industry experience
• Snowflake and SnowSQL
• Experience in statistical programming, Python, R, MATLAB, etc.
• Experience with infrastructure tools (e.g., Azure, transactional systems knowledge, data repositories, data catalogues)
• Experience with data management tools (e.g., integrations – structured and non-structured data, APIs, ETL)

Compensation Information: Offers will be commensurate with experience and education. Please Note: We typically hire at or below mid-point, which is $87,000 for this role.
