Job summary

Manhattan Strategy Group (MSG) is seeking a Data Analyst to provide analytical support for grants management, program oversight, and operational improvements. The role involves collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and reporting data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities that improve organizational effectiveness.

The analyst will design data collection instruments, produce reports, and support leadership with ad hoc analyses and briefing materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of analytics experience.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience producing written reports and presenting findings.
• Experience working with structured and unstructured data.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex qualitative and quantitative analyses.
• Develop reports, briefs, summaries, trends analyses, and management information products.
• Analyze operational, programmatic, and performance data to support evidence-based decision-making.
• Prepare written reports and presentations communicating findings and recommendations.
• Design and implement surveys, questionnaires, interview protocols, and data collection instruments.
• Support data collection efforts and reporting requirements.
• Respond to leadership and stakeholder data requests.
• Track and prioritize analytical assignments.
• Produce ad hoc analyses and briefing materials on short timelines.
• Analyze workflows and business processes.
• Develop recommendations supported by quantitative and qualitative evidence.
• Support development of operational metrics and performance measurement frameworks.

Description

The Data Analyst provides analytical support for grants management, program oversight, operational improvements, and leadership decision-making. This position collects, cleans, analyzes, interprets, and reports quantitative and qualitative data while identifying trends, risks, opportunities, and performance insights that improve organizational effectiveness.

LOCATION: Atlanta, GA; Dallas, TX; Denver, CO; Kansas City, MO; Philadelphia, PA; Washington, DC

Position is not remote, but telework may be available 1-2 days/week.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis and Reporting

• Perform routine and complex qualitative and quantitative analyses.
• Develop reports, briefs, summaries, trends analyses, and management information products.
• Analyze operational, programmatic, and performance data to support evidence-based decision-making.
• Prepare written reports and presentations communicating findings and recommendations.

Information Collection and Evaluation

• Design and implement surveys, questionnaires, interview protocols, and data collection instruments.
• Support data collection efforts and reporting requirements.
• Conduct qualitative reviews of documents, applications, reports, and correspondence.
• Identify anomalies, missing information, and opportunities for process improvements.

Data Request Support

• Respond to leadership and stakeholder data requests.
• Track and prioritize analytical assignments.
• Produce ad hoc analyses and briefing materials on short timelines.

Continuous Improvement

• Analyze workflows and business processes.
• Develop recommendations supported by quantitative and qualitative evidence.
• Support development of operational metrics and performance measurement frameworks.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of analytics experience.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience producing written reports and presenting findings.
• Experience working with structured and unstructured data.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with Excel, Python, R, and Smartsheet.
• Experience with SQL, Qualtrics, GIS, Tableau, Power BI, ArcGIS, and GitHub.
• Knowledge of survey design and implementation.
• Experience supporting federal, education, or human services programs.
