Job summary

Manhattan Strategy Group (MSG) is seeking a Data Management Specialist in hybrid Atlanta, GA (onsite with optional 1-2 days of telework). The role ensures data quality, governance, and integrity across grants administration and program operations.

You will manage workflow tracking, metadata, and documentation while supporting multiple business processes. The position emphasizes data governance, QA, metadata management, and records management, with opportunities to improve data-driven workflows

Description

The Data Management Specialist ensures the quality, integrity, accessibility, and governance of data assets supporting grants administration and program operations. The position manages workflow tracking systems, maintains data records and metadata, conducts quality assurance reviews, and supports data governance activities across multiple business processes.

LOCATION: Atlanta, GA; Dallas, TX; Denver, CO; Kansas City, MO; Philadelphia, PA; Washington, DC

Position is not remote, but telework may be available 1-2 days/week.

Key Responsibilities

Data Quality and Governance

• Monitor and validate data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability.
• Conduct ongoing data quality reviews and recommend corrective actions.
• Support implementation of data governance standards and procedures.
• Ensure adherence to records management and information governance requirements.

Workflow and Data Asset Management

• Maintain workflow tracking systems and operational data repositories.
• Create and update data assets, including trackers, dashboards, mailing lists, and operational databases.
• Manage metadata and documentation supporting data assets and business processes.
• Maintain records and supporting documentation in accordance with federal standards.

Data Collection and Maintenance

• Collect, aggregate, enter, update, and reconcile information from multiple systems.
• Support maintenance of grants administration and operational datasets.
• Monitor system updates and data synchronization processes.
• Identify and resolve data discrepancies and integrity issues.

Documentation and Process Improvement

• Develop standard operating procedures and process documentation.
• Support knowledge management and transition activities.
• Assist with implementation of data-driven workflow improvements.
• Participate in training and change management activities related to new systems and processes.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Library Science, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in data management, records management, or data quality functions.
• Experience with metadata management and document management systems.
• Knowledge of data governance principles and quality assurance methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency with Excel or Smartsheet.
• Experience using data quality and validation tools.
• Working knowledge of SQL.
• Experience supporting federal information management initiatives.
• Familiarity with grants management, human services, or early childhood programs.
