City of Cleveland is seeking a Data Analysis Coordinator to manage the collection and analysis of confidential force-related data and to develop an electronic system for tracking data from force-related documents, vehicle and investigatory stops, and other information. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least three years of professional data experience; a Master's is preferred.
Proficiency with RMIS, SPSS/SAS, and Microsoft Office is expected, with a background check
Ensures the collection and tracking of all confidential documents related to the use of force or allegations of misconduct to include use of force investigative packets as well as reviews conducted by the Force Review Board and the Force Investigation Team. Oversees the creation and maintenance of an accurate electronic system to track all data derived from force-related documents, vehicle stops, investigatory stops, searches, and other information as requested. Develops a protocol to accurately analyze the data collected. Identifies trends or practices through data analysis and research that enable the Division of Police to take corrective action. Reports data analyses to the Chief of Police, Police Inspector General, the Police Commission, and other units as data information is requested. Issues reports as required to the Division and public. Assesses forms and the data collection system on an annual basis to improve accuracy. Trains other members of the Division of Police in required software programs. Performs other related duties as assigned or as the situation requires. Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Statistics, or a Research-related field from an accredited four-year college or university required, a Master's is preferred. Three years of full-time professional experience in data collection and analysis required. Should be familiar with Record Management Software, IA Pro Software, or similar software programs and must have experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, Power Point). Should also be proficient in research-related software such as SPSS or SAS or a related statistical software. Must be able to withstand an extensive background investigation.
