Job summary

IBM Consulting is seeking a Consultant, AI and Data Engineer to build Snowflake Data Cloud foundations and AI solutions for enterprise clients. You will engineer data pipelines, model data governance, and deploy LLM-based applications that address concrete business problems.

You will collaborate with solution architects, data scientists, and analysts to deliver production-grade, scalable solutions across multiple client projects in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Qualifications

• Spans data engineering and applied AI; consulting experience is desirable.
• Strong SQL and Python; experience with dbt, Spark, or Snowpark.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and data warehouses on cloud platforms (Snowflake preferred).
• Hands-on experience building LLM-based applications: prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, vector stores, embeddings.
• Knowledge of ML fundamentals and trade-offs between LLM, classical ML, and rules-based approaches.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate ETL/ELT pipelines and Snowflake-based data models.
• Develop and deploy LLM-based applications (RAG, agents, document intelligence).
• Prepare data for AI consumption, including vector search and feature pipelines.
• Implement solutions using Snowflake Cortex, Snowpark, and integrate with external models.
• Define evaluation datasets and metrics; implement testing, observability, and guardrails.
• Deploy solutions to cloud environments with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code.
• Engage with clients to translate requirements into data and AI solutions.
• Apply governance, privacy, and security best practices across data and AI components.
• Document pipelines, models, prompts, and architectures for handoffs.
