The City of New York, Office of the District Attorney, Bronx County, seeks a Community Associate to support investigations as a DAT Writer. You will interview witnesses, review case materials, and help prepare legal affidavits for discovery, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

You will obtain documents from NYPD and other agencies, handle video and digital evidence, and assist with other unit tasks, with duties spanning days, nights, and weekends as required.

Competenze

• High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
• Education and/or experience which is equivalent to the above.

Mansioni

• Interview witnesses (law enforcement and civilian witnesses) and address inquiries regarding case status, procedural issues and criminal charges.
• Analyze and assess factual scenarios (without taking notes) and prepare legal affidavits.
• Obtain all necessary documents from NYPD and other agencies to aid in case assessment and discovery.
• Communicate and obtain video/digital recordings like body cam video and prepare them for discovery.
• Assist with other unit tasks and perform all other duties as assigned.
