Job description

Empowering responders with aerial intelligence when it matters most.

Job Summary: Alluvionic, in partnership with NMIMT and FEMA through the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium (NDPC), is seeking knowledgeable and passionate SME/Instructors to join their team in delivering cutting‑edge training for first responders and emergency management personnel nationwide. This initiative centers on the Drone Assessment and Response Tactics (DART) program, which equips emergency personnel with the knowledge and practical skills to address Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) threats. Participants will explore UAS‑related criminal and terrorist activities, learn detection and tracking methods, and develop strategies for effective response and reporting. Through a blend of classroom instruction, hands‑on exercises, and field demonstrations, the course introduces participants to UAS capabilities, operational risks, and simulated scenarios, including Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).

The DART training is offered in two formats: a comprehensive 3‑day resident course at NMIMT’s Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center (EMRTC) in Socorro, New Mexico, which includes classroom instruction and hands‑on field training with live explosive demonstrations; and a condensed, mobile 1‑day course at local, state, and tribal emergency responder unit locations.

*This position is supported by Independent Contractors only*
*Travel is required to support resident and mobile course offering*

Responsibilities
  • Delivery of high‑quality resident and mobile DART training courseware designed to raise awareness of UAS threats, including legal considerations and counter‑drone technology

  • Contribute to drafting, reviewing, and refining lesson topics, learning objectives, and instructional materials for both new course versions and re‑certifications to meet NMIMT and FEMA National Training and Education Division (NTED) standards and requirements
  • Participate in course pilot deliveries, provide instructional support as directed, and address pilot feedback from participants, FEMA/NTED, other stakeholders, and NMIMT Curriculum Manager
  • Work closely with NMIMT curriculum developers, instructional designers, and program staff to ensure course content is instructionally sound and operationally accurate in accordance with NMIMT and FEMA/NTED requirements

This includes updating instructor‑led lectures, classroom exercises, field exercises, and other course components to ensure accuracy, instructional effectiveness, and compliance with FEMA/NTED standards

  • Support NMIMT by collecting, analyzing, and documenting data relevant to UAS training content. Activities may include assisting with formal needs assessments, evaluating pilot course delivery feedback, and contributing to after‑action reviews
