Job summary

Mississippi State University is hiring a ASSUREd Safe Training Manager to lead instructor development and curriculum oversight for a national program that trains first responders to operate uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS).

The role owns training logistics and instructional delivery end to end, working with subject matter experts and steering committee members to keep course content aligned with current UAS standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Aviation, Public Administration, Education, Engineering, or a related field with 6 years of experience.
• Master's degree and knowledge of federal grant compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Train and evaluate instructors, conducting audits and site visits to observe course delivery.
• Run an annual instructor convocation and build a Fundamentals of Instruction course.
• Partner with the Instructional Systems Designer to keep course materials accurate and up to date.
• Work with subject matter experts to fold real-world UAS use cases and TTPs into training content.
• Coordinate training venues, including mobile sites, and verify airspace authorizations like COAs and waivers.
• Manage logistics for training kits and equipment, including firmware updates and airframe airworthiness checks.
• Maintain records and reports on course evaluations and outcomes.
• Requires regular travel for training audits, site visits, and course delivery support.
