Job summary

Gallup-Mckinley County Schools in Gallup, NM, seeks an Athletic Coach – Assistant Dance for Gallup High School for SY 2026-2027. This on-site role is a year-round sport position with a minimum salary of $5,000.00 and a maximum of $5,000.00.

The coach must hold or obtain the NM Athletic Coaching License (7-12) and complete the Fundamentals of Coaching online exam. Leadership and character development are key.

Qualifications

• Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport (major sports).
• The head coach must understand technical aspects of the sport and seek new theories and procedures.
• The head coach must model appropriate behavior for student athletes.

Responsibilities

• Reports to athletic director with objectives and evaluation aligned with principals.
• On-site attendance is mandatory for this position.
• Supervises and coordinates a staff of high school and middle school coaches.
• Instructs and demonstrates skills, strategy, and training for athletes.
