Job summary

Insomniac is seeking a motivated PR/Communications intern who loves dance culture. You will draft releases, pitches, and talking points, assist media relations, and monitor press coverage.

This role requires 18–29 hours weekly and 2–3 days on-site in Calabasas, CA, with strong writing, organization, and social media know-how. You’ll work with the PR team to manage media requests, maintain festival information, and support data-driven pitches.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ and enrolled in an accredited college, university, or trade school.
• Preferred majors include Public Relations/Communications, English, or entertainment-industry majors, preferably junior year.
• Previous internship or PR-related experience is a plus.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills for fast-paced environments.
• Proficiency in using Google Drive is highly valued.
• Must work at the Calabasas, CA office 2–3 days a week for 6+ hours.
• Typical commitment is 18–29 hours per week.
• Deep understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok).
• Motivation with an 'Everything is possible' attitude.
• Active problem solver with urgency for projects large and small.
• Knowledge of dance music and Insomniac brands.

Responsibilities

• Draft press releases, media pitches, and written materials for media and internal stakeholders.
• Assist media relations by compiling media lists, crafting quotes, and talking points.
• Monitor press coverage and prepare a daily PR report.
• Participate in department meetings and conference calls.
• Monitor and respond to emails at [e-mail].
• Manage media requests for club shows and festivals.
• Maintain press.insomniac.com with festival info.
• Coordinate with external agencies on fact-checking and schedules.
• Pull photo selects from concerts and branded shows.
• Gather data for internal research and pitch decks.
• Project-manage short-term assignments as needed.
• Perform other press-related duties as requested.
