Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Previous coaching experience in assigned sport (major sports).
• Knowledge of technical aspects of the sport and willingness to learn new theories.
• Must serve as a role model for student athletes through instructions and actions.

Responsibilities

• Organize and supervise the entire athletic program per district policies.
• Oversee coaching staff, schedule clinics, and staff meetings.
• Train staff, encourage professional growth, and monitor staff performance.
• Delegate duties and evaluate assistants; maintain discipline and morale.
• Assist athletic director with scheduling, transportation, and events.
• Ensure compliance with state and league regulations; interpret for staff.
• Mentor athletes, monitor grades and conduct; promote character traits.
• Manage equipment, budgeting, and inventory; safeguard facilities.
• Promote sport to community and media; handle public relations.
