Class Description
Part Time instructor positions available in Dance, teaching one ormore of the following Dance technique courses: Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop,Modern Dance, Ballet, and other dance forms as needed. The abilityto teach Dance Appreciation, and History of Hip Hop Dance is also aconsideration. Please indicate technique forms qualified to teachon application. Adjunct faculty are selected based on program needsand subject matter expertise of the applicant. Adjunct faculty arerequired to attend department meetings, participate in professionaldevelopment related to classroom instruction and pedagogy, beavailable to students outside of class and assist in maintainingprogram accreditation.
Locations: CCBC Essex & Catonsville Campuses and extensioncenters.
Adjunct Level 1 - $1,085 per credit hour.
Adjunct faculty may teach up to 22 credit hours each year andusually teach no more than 11 credits each semester.
Minimum Requirements
- Master’s degree in Dance; or Master’s degree in related fieldwith 18 graduate credits in Dance; or qualifyingequivalency/portfolio and successful experience as a practitioner in the field
- Two (2) years teaching experience
- Experience working with non-traditional and diverse studentpopulations preferred
- Experience using classroom technology and learning managementsystems preferred
- Proficient computer skills and Microsoft applicationsknowledge
- Prior college teaching experience preferred
Class Specific Essential Duties
- Fulfills department and college responsibilities as directed bythe program director and/or course coordinator
- Abides by College wide policies and procedures regardingclassroom conduct
- Ensures instruction meets or exceeds standards established byNational Association of Schools of Dance
- Employs a variety of teaching strategies to meet a diversestudent population
- Adheres to the scheduled time of class/lab
- Develops a course syllabus that is in keeping with program andCollege policies
- Ensures that program specific evaluation methods areadministered and completed in a consistent and equitablemanner
- Assure that evaluation methods are appropriate and effectivelyassessing the established course objectives
- Monitors student performance on a regular basis and providesfeedback within a reasonable timeframe to students

The Roth 403(b) savings feature allowsemployees to contribute after-tax dollars and then withdrawtax-free dollars from their account upon retirement. The Roth403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors:TIAA-CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. Adjunct Faculty, PartTime Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save forretirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees maycontribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b)post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combinedfor the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.
