Description

Department: Dance Academy

Status: Minor Part-Time, At-Will, Non-Exempt, position

Supervisor: Dance Academy Coordinator

Summary:

A Dance Instructor is responsible for educating students on proper technique and vocabulary of dance styles while in a safe and fun environment, as well as assisting the Dance Academy Coordinator with creating and executing Dance Recitals. Support, teach, and encourage participants to meet their dance goals.

Functions:

  • Instructing youth and adult dance class to APJCC members and guests
  • Attend department meetings and continuing education classes to maintain qualifications
  • Help keep the center well-stocked and really clean.
  • Keep all equipment in good working condition.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly fitness studio environment, picking up towels, water bottles, etc.

Education:

  • Dance or Child Development Degree, or some completed units in ECE or Dance at a college level preferred
Qualifications
