Job Title: Damage Assessor Inspector

Location: Puerto Rico

Reports to: Operations Manager / Drone Operations Manager

Compensation Range: $20 - $23 hourly (depending on location, experience, skills, and qualifications)

What We Are Looking For

Damage Assessor Inspectors support Ceres Caribe's growing disaster recovery and resiliency efforts across Puerto Rico. This role is essential to documenting and evaluating damages caused by natural disasters and ensuring accurate reporting for recovery operations.

Success In The First 12 Months Includes

• Completing accurate, timely, and high-quality field assessments
• Maintaining strong documentation standards
• Demonstrating reliability in fast-paced, high-volume disaster response environments
• Building proficiency in drone-based documentation and reporting systems
• Supporting case management and communication workflows

What You Will Do

• Travel to assigned cases to conduct field evaluations for damage caused by various natural disasters
• Identify, document, and video or photograph damages or loss, including drone-based assessments
• Complete required forms as directed and collect all necessary documentation
• Provide documentation to cost estimators and maintain accurate case files
• Report to the Operations Manager and Drone Operations Manager, escalating issues and resolutions as needed
• Upload photographs, videos, and drone footage into the designated database or management information system
• Coordinate and participate in case and sector meetings
• Follow policies, procedures, and communication protocols to maintain workflow efficiency
• Track caseloads and maintain accurate records in the management information system
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Physical ability to walk long distances, carry 10 to 30 pounds, climb steps, and work in rough or uneven terrain
• Ability to work in construction zones and damaged areas with walking hazards
• Willingness to travel throughout Puerto Rico
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check
• Ability to follow procedures, maintain documentation accuracy, and meet deadlines in fast-paced environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• Prior FEMA experience
• Experience with drone software including DroneDeploy, Pix4D, SiteScan, or GIS software
• Knowledge of GIS and applications within ArcGIS Online
• Insurance adjuster experience
• Background or understanding of construction, home inspection, code inspection, or residential or commercial building assessments
• Strong customer service, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

What To Expect

This is a fast-paced, field-based role that requires frequent travel, independent work, and consistent communication with Operations and Drone teams. Damage Assessor Inspectors will visit disaster-impacted areas, document damages, and ensure accurate reporting for recovery and mitigation efforts. Work hours may fluctuate based on disaster activity, and during busy periods, hours may increase up to 40 per week. The role requires adaptability, attention to detail, and comfort working outdoors in varying conditions.

• Ability to lift and move 10 to 30 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation

• Willingness to wear PPE including hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, and other required equipment
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, construction zones, damaged structures, and areas with debris, airborne particles, or loud noise
