Job summary

Schnabel Engineering in Seattle is seeking a mid-level Civil Engineer with a structural emphasis to join the dam engineering team.

You will contribute to the design, analysis and assessment of dams, spillways and hydraulic structures as part of a multidisciplinary group of engineers.

The role requires 5+ years of relevant experience, a PE license, and proficiency with SAP2000, Staad.PRO, Risa 3D and CAD tools. We offer competitive benefits including ESOP and professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years of civil engineering experience with emphasis in dam design or dam safety.
• Licensed Professional Engineer with ability to obtain reciprocity.
• Experience in design of dams, spillways, gates, and related hydraulic structures.
• Proficiency with CAD/FEA tools for dam engineering.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural engineering tasks across project lifecycle for dams and hydraulic structures.
• Develop structural models using finite element software (SAP2000, Risa 3D, Staad.PRO, or equivalent).
• Prepare construction drawings and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and CAD designers, travel as needed.
• Review submittals and respond to contractor questions during construction.
