Job summary

The Eugene Water & Electric Board seeks a Civil, Geotechnical, or Dam Safety Engineer to support ODSP. This role involves dam safety, public safety, and regulatory compliance. Hybrid work in Eugene, OR with the McKenzie and Clackamas River projects.

Strong collaboration, documentation, and risk assessment skills are essential. Experience in geotechnical or dam safety projects and familiarity with FERC guidelines are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Experience with geotechnical or dam safety projects is preferred.
  • Oregon driver’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Post-offer background check required.
  • Post-offer drug test required for certain levels.
  • Post-offer physical/functional test required for certain levels.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, plan, and coordinate dam safety work with internal partners (Operations, Generation Engineering, License Deployment, Environmental) and external partners (regulators, consultants, contractors, emergency management agencies, resource agencies).
  • Perform site inspections, construction observation, and documentation; manage projects and contracts; provide dam safety input to capital project planning and design; participate in PFMA and risk assessments.
  • Apply dam safety risk assessment methods, instrumentation data processing, and analysis as part of risk-informed decisions.
