Job summary

GFT seeks a Hydraulic Structures Engineer for our Dams and Hydraulics Team in Greenwood Village, CO, near Denver. The role blends design, analysis, and project support for concrete dams and hydraulic structures, with site visits and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

You will use software such as Ansys, SAP2000, AutoCAD, and Mathcad to develop designs, perform condition assessments, and prepare engineering documents under senior guidance. A PE/EIT and 3–5 years' experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• EIT or PE licensure and Colorado registration eligibility.
• 3-5 years of structural engineering experience on dams/hydraulic structures.
• Experience using AutoCAD, Mathcad, Ansys, SAP2000.
• Field experience supporting inspections and condition assessments.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analyses and develop designs for concrete dams and hydraulic structures (spillways, outlet works, etc.).
• Develop concepts, criteria, calculations, and finite element models (Ansys, SAP2000).
• Apply engineering principles to project challenges within multidisciplinary teams.
• Research literature and evaluate design approaches for complex elements.
• Prepare memos, drawings, specifications, and support QA/QC reviews.
