Job summary

GFT's Dams And Hydraulics is seeking a Senior Hydraulic Structures Engineer to join our Greenwood Village, CO-based team. You will lead evaluation, design, and rehabilitation of concrete dams and hydraulic structures, and mentor junior engineers while engaging with clients and regulators.

The role offers a flexible work model (fully remote or hybrid) with strong opportunity for leadership, and a compensation package reflecting 15+ years of experience. PE license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in structural, civil, or mechanical engineering.
• 15+ years of relevant experience in evaluation, analysis, design, and rehabilitation of dams and hydraulic structures.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in at least one U.S. state.
• Experience serving as Engineer of Record, technical reviewer, or senior technical lead for dam and hydraulic projects.
• Experience serving as structural technical lead for dam and hydraulic projects.
• Demonstrated engineering judgment in evaluation, design, rehabilitation of hydraulic structures.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills; ability to convey complex concepts to clients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead evaluation, analysis, rehabilitation, and design of dams and hydraulic structures (concrete dams, spillways, gates, basins).
• Develop and direct analyses, design criteria, hand calculations, and finite element models.
• Serve as Engineer of Record, technical reviewer, or senior advisor for projects.
• Mentor and lead engineers and staff to strengthen technical capabilities.
• Lead field inspections, condition assessments, investigations and construction support.
• Prepare and review calculations, reports, drawings, specifications, and client communications.
