Job summary

Cherry Bekaert is seeking an experienced Tax Partner for its Dallas Tax Practice. This leadership role focuses on partnership taxation for private equity-backed and closely held businesses, with responsibility for client relationships and strategic growth in a dynamic market.

You will lead complex tax planning, structuring, and compliance, mentoring teams and collaborating with cross-functional professionals to deliver integrated tax solutions that drive value.

Qualifications

• CPA license required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's degree in Taxation, JD, or related advanced degree preferred.
• Significant public accounting experience with extensive expertise in partnership taxation and Subchapter K planning.
• Demonstrated experience advising private equity-backed portfolio companies, operating partnerships, and closely held businesses.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the trusted advisor and primary relationship leader for clients with complex partnership tax needs.
• Advise PE-backed portfolio companies, operating partnerships, and middle-market businesses on partnership structuring, allocations, distributions, basis calculations, mergers, acquisitions, and ownership transitions.
• Lead delivery and review of federal and multi-state tax compliance, planning, and consulting engagements involving complex partnership structures.
• Partner with PE sponsors, management teams, and business owners to develop tax-efficient strategies supporting growth and value creation.
• Identify and cultivate opportunities to expand existing client relationships through advisory services and collaboration across practices.
• Mentor, coach, and develop tax professionals to foster technical excellence and client service.
• Contribute to Cherry Bekaert's presence in the Dallas market through networking and thought leadership.
