Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP seeks an Associate Attorney with Labor & Employment experience to join our Dallas, Texas office. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years’ experience and will maintain client confidentiality while working in a team setting.

The Labor and Employment Law Section at FMG is nationally recognized for defending employment claims and advising employers on preventative policies to reduce litigation risk.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• In good standing and able to practice law in Texas.
• Strong critical thinking and solid academic background.
• Urgency in solving problems, meeting deadlines and achieving goals.
• Knowledgeable, attentive, proactive.
• Excellent communicator, negotiator, public speaker, and problem solver.
• Self-motivated and goal oriented with a track record of meeting billable hours.
• Able to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Detail oriented, organized and effective.
• Professional demeanor and good interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Provide initial analysis and develop case strategy.
• Prepare and respond to discovery.
• Take and defend depositions, draft motions and attend hearings.
• Explain legal options to clients and highlight potential outcomes.
• Build relationships with clients.
