Job summary

Aurora Organic Dairy in Colorado is seeking a Production Engineer to partner with plant engineers to develop, sustain, and optimize preventative maintenance, equipment reliability, and safety programs in a high-volume milk processing and packaging facility.

You will lead training for operators and maintenance staff, support HACCP/SQF compliance, and drive OEE improvements across Receiving, Processing, Packaging, and Quality Assurance functions.

Qualifications

• Five years or more in hands-on maintenance experience in a food processing facility.
• Experience in ammonia refrigeration and high-pressure steam generation is highly desirable.
• Must read and interpret electrical/maintenance manuals for equipment maintenance and repair.
• Willingness to provide on-call coverage.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and report deviations from Food Safety and Food Quality programs to supervisor.
• Maintain production equipment reliability to achieve OEE goals.
• Devise and execute improvement schemes to drive productivity, safety and quality.
• Participate in design, modification, and maintenance of equipment in the Plant.
• Develop and deliver training for operators and maintenance technicians.
• Ensure reliable performance of facility equipment supporting safe production operations.
• Support other production functions when necessary.
• Program coordinator of PSM/RMP and ensure compliance with Industrial Safety Engineer.
• Collaborate with maintenance technicians in hands-on repairs.
• Provide open communications across Plant personnel.
• SQF program development, training, implementation, and compliance.
• Support Industrial Safety Engineer in safety programs compliance.
