Job summary

Dean's Dairy seeks an experienced Dispatch Coordinator to schedule and dispatch truck loads for timely dairy product deliveries from multiple depots. You will coordinate drivers, optimize routes, and communicate with customers to ensure accurate deliveries and adapt to changing requirements.

The role emphasizes maintaining carrier relationships, monitoring compliance with schedules, and solving issues promptly while ensuring adherence to transportation regulations and cost targets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 to 3 years of dispatching, logistics, transportation, customer service, or related experience.
• Certification and/or License – may be required during course of employment.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and dispatch daily loads/shipments (raw milk, products/goods) to meet customer needs and optimize routes to reduce costs and elevate overall efficiency.
• Dispatch approved drivers to appropriate loads based on availability, capacity, and delivery deadlines; confirm load date/time and delivery date/time.
• Audit driver compliance with schedules.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between drivers, customers, and internal contacts; communicate delivery instructions, customer changes, address issues, and provide updates on shipment status.
• Develop and maintain relationships with carriers and drivers to understand their needs, operating schedules, and physical limitations while informing them of customer needs and distribution system.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

1 to 3 years of dispatching, logistics, transportation, customer service, or related experience
