Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a Store Manager/Department Manager in Rolling Meadows, IL to lead daily store operations, coach teams, and drive service and sales excellence. You will oversee staffing, development, and performance, while maintaining store standards and a positive customer experience.

The role emphasizes mentoring, training, and implementing Meijer’s Friendly Initiative across team meetings and day-to-day tasks, with a focus on prime shopping hours and product presentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clear direction and resolve conflicts.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentor and coach team members to improve customer service and sales.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning and development paths for team members.
• Manage P&L, sales objectives and shrink for the department.
• Ensure training completion and adherence to Meijer standards.
• Maintain a safe work environment and ensure consistent attendance.
