Job summary

The University of Maine is seeking a dedicated individual to support farm labor tasks across livestock operations with a focus on animal care and facilities maintenance. Qualifications

• Typically has the education associated with an associate’s degree in agronomy, animal sciences, or a related field or equivalent work experience and training.
• Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Valid Maine driver’s license or eligibility as a university driver.

Responsibilities

• Perform farm operations including animal feeding and general facilities upkeep.
• Operate dairy robotic machines, tractors, and other farm equipment.
• Assist with equipment repairs and maintenance and troubleshoot.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and students and maintain records.
