Job summary

Kroger in Clinton Charter Township, MI is seeking a Dairy Department Leader who will create an outstanding customer experience by delivering the Customer 1st strategy and guiding associates to provide outstanding service.

You will manage scheduling, payroll, training, and performance, ensure safety and compliance, submit plans and promotions, and work with store management to meet budget and sales goals while maintaining a welcoming, helpful environment for shoppers.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 or older.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates, with a positive attitude.
• Communicate company, department, and job specific information to associates.
• Establish performance goals for department and empower associates to meet or exceed goals and targets through teamwork.
• Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume throughout hours of operation.
• Train and develop associates on performance of their job and participate in the performance appraisal process.
• Adhere to all local, state and federal laws, food safety regulations and company guidelines.
• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store, and by using knowledge of products to make suggestions.
• Inform customers of dairy specials.
• Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results.
• Plan and organize the inventory process, maintain awareness; note any discrepancies.
• Train department associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Report all safety risks or issues, and illegal activity, including: robbery, theft or fraud.
