Job summary

Giant Eagle, Inc. in Pittsburgh (PA) seeks a Dairy Lead to guide the dairy department, manage Team Members, and oversee ordering of perishables and supplies while executing merchandising initiatives to grow the business and maximize profits.

You will work with the Grocery Manager to supervise staff and ensure customer satisfaction. You should be a team player who motivates others to achieve success and demonstrates integrity in every customer interaction.

Qualifications

• Experience required: 3 to 5 years in grocery/dairy or related field.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Lifting requirement: Up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement merchandising plans to meet department financial objectives.
• Control department costs by monitoring and improving operations to increase profitability.
• Direct, oversee and evaluate training to reduce turnover and control labor costs.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment meeting health and OSHA requirements.
• Develop and maintain communication with other departments to support marketing plans.
• Analyze CSI and Team Member surveys to identify improvements.
• Maintain department records to document activities.
• Ensure procedures meet out-of-stock percentage goals.
• Promote continuous development of employees and identify candidates for the Team Leader Development Program.
• Understand and adhere to the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
• Support a culture of safety including food safety, Team Member safety and customer safety.
• Demonstrate appropriate suggestive selling techniques.
• Deliver service with integrity and unparalleled customer interactions.
• Promote diversity, inclusion and respect for Team Members, customers, vendors and the community.
