Job summary

RJW Logistics Group in Mesquite, TX seeks a Maintenance Utility Worker to support the Maintenance Safety Manager, coordinate with vendors and contract mechanics, and keep all equipment in good condition. This role reports to the Maintenance Manager and requires strong problem solving and teamwork.

Shift is Monday–Friday, 7am–3:30pm, with a pay rate of $22 per hour. RJW offers a competitive benefits package and exciting pay incentives, plus an Employee Ownership Program designed to reward

Responsibilities

• Assist Maintenance Safety Manager with vendors and contract mechanics.
• Maintain all company equipment and perform routine repairs.
• Read and interpret manuals and blueprints as needed.
• Respond to after-hour emergencies and be on-call when required.
• Work with a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Provide good communication and problem resolution with team members.

Position Title: Maintenance Utility Worker

Shift:Monday - Friday (7am - 3:30pm)

Pay: $22/hr

Exciting NEW Pay Incentives at RJW!

• Attendance Incentive - Up to $2400 bonus for good attendance. (Refer to Policy for Rules and Details)
• Referral Bonus - Up to $500 per referral (Refer to Policy for Rules and Details)
• Hiring Bonus - Up to $1000 (Refer to Policy for Rules and Details)
• Step increase program- Pay will increase by $.50 every 90 days over a 1 year period (Material Handlers Only- Max $25/hr for step increase - Refer to Policy for Rules and Details)
• Certified/qualified Forklift/Walkie Rider/Cherry Picker drivers will receive an additional $0.50 p.hr
• Certified/qualified Reach Truck drivers will receive an additional $1.00 p.hr

Job Purpose: This position will have the responsibility for assisting the Maintenance Safety Manager with vendors and RJW Transport contract mechanic in addition to maintaining all company equipment. This position will report to the Maintenance Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Strong attention to detail, organizational, time-management and problem solving skills.
• Superior customer service skills including the ability to manage difficult customers and/or situations.
• Professional verbal and written communication.
• Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English
• General computer knowledge
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to be on-call for responding after-hour emergencies
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings and holidays.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Good communication, problem resolution, and people skills.

Qualifications:

• Maintenance: 2 years
• Plumbing: 2 years
• Electrical: 2 years
• Appliance repairs: 2 years
• Valid driver's license.

Education and/or Experience Required:

• High school or equivalent

Language Skills Sets:

• Must be able to communicate, read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.

Mathematical Skills:

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to determine "root cause" of problem and determine corrective action.

Computer Skills:

• To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of Business Operating Systems, Internet software, Word Processing, and Spreadsheet software.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Must be able to activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons.
• Must be articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
• Regularly works in an indoor/office environment and required to sit and/or use repetitive hand motion.
• Frequently required to talk, hear, stand and walk.
• Must be able to work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required.
• Must be able to work under stressful situations, have good cognitive skills, maintain work accuracy, and the ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time.
• Must have the ability to read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision.
• Must be able to speak and communicate clearly over telephones.
• Must be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of the use of controlled substances.
• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment will range from quiet to moderately loud.
