Job summary

MAHLE is seeking a Warehouse Team Leader to assist the Supervisor in improving the efficiency and accuracy of picking for production orders and staging handling units (HUs) in the correct locations. You will monitor priority orders, balance workloads, and support training for new hires to ensure onboarding success.

You will coordinate with supervisors, ensure correct HU staging, and help manage shift handoffs while maintaining a safe, efficient warehouse environment and meeting daily KPIs.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to handle multiple requests and assignments; must have good organization skills.
  • Group Leader must have ability to operate material handling equipment in the department.

Responsibilities

  • On-the-job training of new employees and temporaries; document progress via training plan.
  • Coordinate with supervisors and team leads to schedule picking of production orders to meet delivery targets.

Summary

Provide assistance to the Supervisor to enhance the overall efficiencies and accuracies of all processes required to pick products for production orders and stage HU’s in proper locations for MAHLE Aftermarket Inc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Monitor reports for priority orders and completion. Maintain assignments for M & G numbers to ensure correct login and balance of resources in the system to reduce partial picks or resource errors. Complete required audits of picked production orders. Hold pickers accountable to pick correct quantities of each PN, label with pick tags, identify and stage HU’s properly (HU # and box 1/X).
  • Monitor reports for pick queues and warehouse tasks for proper assignment & execution & priority levels; balance and assign resources to minimize partial picks and balance mezzanine and lift picks across deliveries & orders. Monitor production orders with multiple warehouse orders to minimize this type of partial pick.
  • On the job training of new employees and/or temporaries – testing/auditing of correct performance and execution of warehouse tasks and responsibilities. Document via Basic Departmental Specific Training Plan.
  • Invest time each day with new employees and/or temporaries for first 2 weeks with the intent to conduct an effective onboarding experience, ensure training retention, and remove obstacles preventing the development of an effective team member.
  • Provide necessary resources and tools to keep personnel productive (radios, lifts & harnesses, pallets, scanners, box cutters, markers, twist ties, baggies, etc).
  • Prioritize and coordinate with supervisor, Production Control Coordinators, other group leaders, and bulk pickers to schedule picking of production orders to meet delivery and productivity requirements.
  • Monitor all quality processes within department. Address incomplete HU’s or HU’s not staged in correct locations. Daily disposition of products in red and yellow bins and put away of overage or rerouted stock left in excess after production order is completed. Monitor and disposition all pallets/bin boxes/products in area of responsibility for correct status identification. Address problems as they arise.
  • Monitor all daily productivity of team members and report to Supervisor daily. Implement actions to achieve department KPI’s.
  • Perform effective shift handoff to include status of priority customers or orders, suggestions for what to work on next, and staging to set next shift up for success.
  • Cover for absenteeism and vacation as required.
  • Handle minor disciplinary issues.
  • Communicate maintenance requirements on a daily basis.
  • Work with and display a team concept approach at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Read and respond to emails as necessary.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervision of department associates under leadership guidance of Supervisor.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training.

  • Ability to prioritize production requirements. Possess computer skills in spreadsheet (Excel) functions.
Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to complete basic math calculations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form. Good analytical, conceptual, and organizational skills.
