Job summary

Lexington Health is seeking a Cytotechnologist to perform microscopic screening, assist with cytopreparations, and manage computer data entry for test orders and reporting. You will maintain knowledge of cytology procedures and QA, reporting to the Cytology Supervisor and the Pathologist in charge of the Cytology Division.

The role requires a BS in Cytotechnology or related field and ASCP CT certification (or eligibility).

Qualifications

• BS in Cytotechnology or Life Sciences with cytology program.
• Must meet DHHS/CLIA cytotechnologist requirements; ASCP CT certification or eligible.
• Minimum experience not required; training provided as needed.

Responsibilities

• Microscopically evaluate and mark abnormalities; write diagnostic impression.
• Document slide statistics on appropriate forms.
• Directly report negative cases except 10% referred for pathologist review.
• Refer gynecologic and non-gynecologic cases with impressions to pathologist.
• Enter final results into the computer for pathologist review and signature.
