Job summary

MedCadre is seeking a Cytologist to join a busy lab team in Kansas City. The role supports gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimen analysis, with emphasis on cancer screening and diagnostic quality samples.

The Cytologist collaborates with physicians, pathologists, and lab staff in a high-volume setting. The position offers part-time or full-time options, competitive hourly pay, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science required
• ASCP cytology certification required or eligible
• Experience with ROSE procedures and F&A procedures preferred
• Ability to work in a high-stress environment with proceduralists

Responsibilities

• Examine gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens for cancerous or pre-cancerous cells and other pathologic findings
• Assist in obtaining diagnostic quality samples
• Provide feedback on fine needle aspiration procedures
• Perform designated pap screening workload as assigned

• Base Hourly Pay/Salary Range: $37.53 min | $48.80 mid | $60.09 max

Job Description / General Duties

A Cytologist microscopically examines gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens for cancerous/pre- cancerous cells and other pathologic findings. Assists in obtaining diagnostic quality samples and provides feedback on fine needle aspiration procedures. Day to day - designated amount of paps to screen. Non-gen specimens are divided out. Can work with pulmonary, IR, endocrine. 6 cytologist and 3 lab processors on team currently.

Minimum Requirements

• Cytologist (CT) ASCP or eligible (contingent upon passing certification).
• Bachelor's of Science required - new grads accepted.
• Experience with rose procedure (going into procedure rooms) and F&A procedures, preferred.
• High stress environment working with proceduralists.
