Job summary

Penn Medicine in Lancaster, PA seeks a Cytotechnologist to prepare, process, evaluate, and render diagnoses on cytologic materials from various sites. A sign-on bonus of up to $15k is available. ASCP certification is required within six months of hire, and a CAHEA-accredited B.S. in cytotechnology is required.

Qualifications

• ASCP certification is required within six months of hire.
• Bachelor of Arts or Science from a CAHEA-accredited cytotechnology program.
• New graduates are eligible to apply (0–2 years of experience accepted).

Responsibilities

• Prepares, processes, evaluates, and renders diagnoses on cytologic material from various sites.
• Accesses specimens manually and in the lab system; resolves quality and documentation issues.
• Writes clear, concise differential diagnosis reports and enters results into the system.
• Adapts instrumentation to prepare low-yield specimen types as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
