Job summary

Henry Ford Health seeks a Cytotechnologist to prepare and stain specimens from various body sites, under general supervision, to spot cancer and abnormalities. You will issue diagnostic reports on gynecological specimens and collaborate with clinicians at aspiration biopsy sites to ensure quality samples.

The role is part-time, daytime shift, offering meaningful work and a direct impact on patient care through precise laboratory analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with successful completion in CAAHEP accredited program in cytotechnology or fulfill CLIA88 requirements for cytotechnologist as stated in Federal Register 493.1483, if prior to 1992.
• ASCP eligibility or certification in cytotechnology.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and stain specimens from body sites and spot cancer or abnormalities.
• Issue diagnostic reports on gynecological specimens (negative/normal).
• Collaborate with clinicians at aspiration biopsy sites to ensure samples are collected and processed to perfection.
