Job summary

PathGroup in Greenville, SC is seeking a Cytotechnologist to examine cells on glass slides to detect diseased, pre-malignant and malignant changes, following department protocols. Daily duties include reviewing gynecologic and non-gynecologic slides, recording findings in the LIS, maintaining logs, performing instrument maintenance, and contributing to QA/QC programs.

You will work within safety and privacy guidelines and support the Corporate Compliance Program while ensuring accurate reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology and ASCP certification are required or strongly preferred.
• Experience with gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology is desirable.
• Proficiency with laboratory safety procedures and QA/QC processes.

Responsibilities

• Examine gynecological and non-gynecological slides daily according to department protocols.
• Record findings in computer system and update logs.
• Identify and correct problems affecting test performance or reporting.
• Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting as needed.
• Support QA/QC programs and ensure compliance with safety policies.
