Job description

Job Title: Cytotechnologist

Join our team at Accu Reference Medical Lab as a Cytotechnologist.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a cytotechnologist
• ASCP certification preferred
• Current passing grade on the annual cytotechnologist proficiency test
• Training and proficiency with Hologic Thin Prep Imaging System

Procedural Responsibilities

• Utilize clinical history and patient information to diagnose cytologic specimens accurately
• Examine specimens for abnormal cellular changes and pathogens
• Sign out all negative gynecologic cases
• Report cytologic findings, including microorganisms and endocervical components
• Evaluate and mark GYN cases (reactive, reparative, abnormal, questionable, or negative)
• Submit cases to a pathologist for final evaluation as needed
• Record results legibly in the laboratory system
• Participate in daily quality control reviews of at least 10% of workload
• Maintain proper records and laboratory equipment
• Ensure compliance with workload limits
• Participate in ongoing education related to Cytology
